Through creative expression, I am learning to observe my thoughts and emotions with curiosity, rather than continue the cycle of feeling bad about feeling bad.

 

When feelings of despair feel inescapable, artistic practices help me feel my emotions rather than run from them. I am able to slow my thoughts and pay attention to how fascinatingly intricate the world is. 

 

Through poetry, painting and other projects, I reflect on my relationships. I find these practices quite helpful in teaching my distracted mind how to listen: patient, loving and brave.
